Knowing My Place

Forward

Welcome to my feeble attempt at writing fiction. The length of the story makes it a novella. However, it is distinctly in electronic document format, with explanatory links to pages on the Internet. Thus, if you read this story offline, you may miss out on evidence for things in the story.

While this is indeed a work of fiction, it's purpose is didactic. That is, I have an agenda. I want you to arrive at roughly the same place as the characters in the story. There are some assumptions I make on the way. These can be summed up this way:

  1. The United States as a nation has gone too far. She now resides under God's judgment. While this can, in theory, be reversed, it would require such extreme measures as to be wholly unlikely. Wrath is coming; buckle your seatbelt.
  2. Any attempt to advocate for working within the system is out of order, based on copious evidence that system has been hijacked already by evil. That's the obvious premise of the book, and my own working assumption. It took me a long time to get here, and I'm not interested in further debate on that.
  3. One could reasonably build a case from Scripture for armed resistance against tyranny. Were it not so, we must condemn the existence of the US as an independent state, and begin immediately working to return this nation to dependency on the UK. Any takers?
  4. One could further posit reasonably such resistance is due our current US government. The debate centers on the question: How much is too much; how far is too far?
  5. I am convinced such resistance is not God's will in this situation. That's more a prophetic issue. That doesn't preclude a change later. For now, it's a bad idea.

As you'll see in the story, I also hold convictions quite different from many of my fellow Believers on many issues. None of them are essential to personal salvation. Nor are they essential to proper Christian service, except as it applies to our relations with the current secular government. I believe American Chistians have swallowed several major falsehoods, and one of the greatest of those lies is Dispensationalism.

You are encouraged to make up your own mind on such things. However, if you fail to actually study the issue, you have falied the mandate from God to carefully consider what His Word requires of you. The issue is not whether His Word is true, but what it says.

Meanwhile, remember this is fiction, and you can reject all my assumptions and still enjoy the story, and get a blessing from God.
